Ordering a credit report
There are a few different ways to obtain your credit report s.
- You can order them throughwww.annualcreditreport.com .You are entitled by law to get a free credit report once a year according to the accurate Credit Transactions Act. (FACT Act). Remember if you have received a free copy within the past 12 months and ask for another you will be denied by mail and have to order another one. AnnualCreditReport.com has placed a premium on maintaining the integrity and security of consumers seeking free annual credit reports under the FACT Act. Security precautions include CAPTCHATM technology, https and Verisign® certification.
- If you are denied credit for any reason by a Bank, Credit Card Company, Car Dealer etc. the company, denying you credit has to provide you with a credit report stating the reason why. You should receive a letter in the mail after you are denied credit. It’s a good idea to order one but it must be within 60 days.
